SIRM CARES takes its commitment to training, development &learning very seriously. Our commitment to the Investors in People Standard is an indication of this.

Not only do we invest time and effort to recruit staff with the right qualities and values, we also establish individual training and development plans, derived from.

  • What is required by legislation (identified primarily by the SIRM Board and senior managers)
  • What the organisation needs to achieve its objectives (identified primarily by the SIRM Board and senior managers)
  • What teams need to achieve their objectives (identified primarily by team managers with their team members)
  • What individuals need to carry out their respective roles effectively(identified by individuals in consultation with their line managers)
  • What individuals may need to develop further within the organisation i.e. career development and advancement (Identified by individuals in consultation with their line managers).

Our specially designed in-house training program aims to achieve three key goals.

  • To provide a training pathway that enables staff to embrace the information being delivered in training sessions
  • Take that information back to the workplace, use and implement it to enhance knowledge, understanding, skills, experience and the overall service outcomes
  • To induce natural alignment in behaviour and create authentic engagement in staff practices.

In order to assist the identification of training, development &learning needs of the organisation, team and individuals, SIRM CARES will implement Supervision to ensure the correct training, development &learning needs are identified accurately and on time.

Each April, starting with the board, the Performance Management process will commence and filter down to individuals by the end of May with a review taking place every 3 months thereafter. This process ensures that the goals and targets of the organisation, team and individuals are evaluated and supported by training, development &learning.
